One of the grandest deployments and unforgettable landscapes I have ever experienced was my time spent in Antarctica. Unique in its beauty, its logistics, and its engineering, it was a fascinating assignment as the Operation Deepfreeze Operations and Plans Officer.
Most of these images came from old slides impacted with dust over 35 years of closets and cupboards. As such, they are not wonderous photographic archives, but they indeed tell a story. It was an adventure of a life time and I am fortunate to have the images to show some of that opportunity. A few of these pictures were stock photos taken by the staff photographer’s mates. The quality compared to my own humble efforts at the time will be obvious.
